Russett Farms is a third generation family farm located north of Stirling. Darrell, Sandra and their son Rodney know that when cattle are comfortable, they thrive. Their new barn hosts 1000 head of cattle and provides excellent shelter from the sun and cold. The automatic sidewalls raise up or down, providing excellent air quality for the animals.
The Russetts are proud to be a member family farm of the Ontario Corn Fed Beef program. They feed their beef cattle with their own crops of hay, soybeans, wheat and corn.
The cattle are pastured, then finished on 100 days of grain.
No hormones are added to their beef.
In their apple orchard, the Russetts grow MacIntosh, Cortland, Gala, and Northern Spy apples which they sell fresh in the fall.
